Computer Equipment Loaning Policy
This policy applies to students in the Upper School (Middle and High). It does not apply to students in the Lower School, as Graded supplies classrooms in that division with the appropriate technology necessary for a robust learning environment.
Graded is a 1-to-1 school and a “bring your own device” (BYOD) institution. It is the expectation that all students come to school, prepared for learning, with fully charged and functioning computers that meet these minimum requirements. These requirements enable students to fully participate in educational activities and be supported by teachers and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
The school recognizes that on occasion, students will run into technical difficulties, come to school without fully charged devices, or forget their computers altogether. Because Graded strives to empower students to take ownership of their learning, Graded will not lend any equipment to any students. This includes chargers, adapters, cameras, calculators, power cords, or any other device or peripheral equipment not mentioned here.
Should a student’s computer break or be otherwise unavailable, a loaner may be arranged after consultation with the student’s parent.
If the equipment or any peripheral is returned damaged or defaced, the student will be charged for the damage.
